St. Helen Catholic Church
Pearland, Texas
Architect: Davis & Rexrode
Design Consultant: Fr. Don Neumann
16ft. height
As the focal point of the church narthex, this window faces and offers a vibrant counterpoint to the bronze crucifix behind the central altar. A germinating grain of wheat in the lower center erupts into a volcanic multiplicity, yielding its one-hundred fold increase-the radiant risen Christ. Contrasting round forms in cool tones present both an empty tomb and a cosmic view of Christ's footstool, the earth.
