New autonomous works by Stephen Wilson are on exhibit at the Shaw Center for the Arts in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The Art of Light: Works in Glass features gemeaux, sculptural, and leaded glass pieces as well as watercolors and mixed media works.
With this exhibit, Steve Wilson continues a long association with Louisiana State University. In December of 2007, Steve delivered the commencement address to graduates at the LSU College of Art and Design and was named a Distinguished Alumnus of the university. Steve holds an MFA in stained glass from LSU.
The Art of Light: Works in Glass is on display at the Shaw Center's Alfred C. Glassell, Jr. Exhibition Gallery of the LSU School of Art Gallery. The exhibit continues until June 29 and is free and open to the public.

The Word, The Woodlands Christian Church
...What resulted was a meditation in glass on a passage central to our church's understanding: "In the beginning was the Word"...The imagery placed a fluid, white bright lambda (for "logos") at the origin point of a spiraling galaxy suggestive of the creative exuberance of God. But to the shape of the lambda, Steve had added an additional arm, rising upward toward the right. "Now it's becoming a cross also," he explained, "a pre-emergent cross, because God's love for us, as shown in the cross, was already present there, in the beginning, even before the creation of the world."...
